The Îles-de-la-Madeleine Airport (airport codes: YGR, CYGR) is located on House Harbour island. This island is part of the Magdalen Islands in Quebec, Canada. The airport is very important for people traveling to and from these islands by air.
About the Airport
The airport is almost at sea level. However, land to the south rises quite a bit. This means planes cannot circle around from that direction when landing. Sometimes, seagulls can be a frequent concern for pilots landing here.
This airport is known as an "airport of entry." This means that people arriving from other countries can go through customs here. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has officers at the airport. They can check small private planes, but only if they have 15 passengers or fewer.

Several airlines fly to and from the Îles-de-la-Madeleine Airport. Some flights are "seasonal," meaning they only happen during certain times of the year.
